Yuyang Zhong
Postdoctoral researcher
Wageningen University & Research
Yuyang obtained her PhD from the University of Tokyo, where she investigated DNA methylation in plant mitochondrial genomes and genome editing tools. Her doctoral research focused on distinguishing genuine mitochondrial methylation from nuclear mitochondrial DNA (NUMT) interference by developing optimized experimental and analytical approaches for organellar epigenomic analysis. Building on her research background, she aims to apply her expertise to uncovering the genetic mechanisms underlying cytoplasmic inheritance.
