Iwa completed her Master’s degree in Microbiology at the University of Bonn in 2024, focusing on chloroplast protein import in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. In October 2025, she will start as a PhD candidate at Wageningen University & Research. In her PhD project, she will investigate the molecular basis for mitochondrial and plastid inheritance in Nicotiana tabacum.
